Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis cover) by MountainCity

MOUNTAINCITY RELEASING FIRST COVER SONG – AN ELVIS CLASSIC!

(Denver, CO – Posted by Jeanie Rhoades)  MountainCity will release their first cover song recording on October 6, 2016. They have given their modern folk, pop, mix-tape treatment to one of Elvis Presley’s greatest hits, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Dave and Tara were sitting at home practicing to sing this song live when the arrangement for the song, which has been covered by many artists over the years, “just kind of happened.” Tara told Dave she really liked it and that was all the encouragement he needed. “It took five minutes,” he told us, “and we’ve played it the same way ever since.”

This MountainCity song cover surprises us with a whimsical whistling and ukulele intro. But, “like a river flows, surely to the sea,” it doesn’t take long for Dave and Tara’s strong harmonies, along with some distinct, rhythmic percussion and Dave’s wildly soulful vocal riffs to sweep us straight into the middle of this creative, folk-pop adaptation of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

“We really enjoy this song and had a blast arranging it and recording it,” Dave Powers, MountainCity’s guitarist and lead vocalist said. “For a long time, I’ve thought it would be hilarious to whistle on a song, and that idea came true on this one! Straight outta Andy Griffith!”

Anniversary of the Elvis release

Written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss, this song, originally featured in Elvis Presley’s 1961 film, Blue Hawaii, was released as a single by Elvis exactly 55 years ago this week on October 1, 1961.

MountainCity’s version will be released October 6, 2016 at their website at www.mountain.city/shop, which is the best way to support the recently-formed band! However, you may also find MountainCity music through the larger retail outlets, such as iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

While previous MountainCity releases have included additional versions (including instrumental, remixes, and remix instrumental versions) MountainCity is only releasing this one version of this classic Elvis cover song. Get your digital copy HERE first on October 6th!

Dave would like to thank his sponsor Shubb Capos

Here is what Dave had to say about Shubb Capos:

“Out of all the capos I’ve tried in more than 25 years of playing guitar, Shubb Capos are the best, simply put.

I’m blown away to be a part of the Shubb Family of Artists! I’ve literally had the same Shubb capo for over 20 years and it’s still rockin’! Serious quality, man! And, they are made in the good ol’ U.S.A., which I dearly love!

If you’re looking for a capo for your guitar, ukulele, Dobro, or banjo, check out Shubb Capos! They’ve got some other really cool accessories, in addition to capos, as well! Here’s their website: www.shubb.com
