MountainCity Facebook LIVE Recap

Today is Wednesday! That means at 7:30 pm MST, you can watch MountainCity live on Facebook, doing a concert from Dave and Tara Powers’ home.

The very first of an ongoing series of Facebook Live mini-concerts by MountainCity aired last week from Denver.

How did it go?

“It was great!” Tara confirmed.

“We moved the table and chairs out of our kitchen. We set up our sound system and some lights. It was quite the home-takeover for just a 30-minute live concert.” Dave and Tara even enlisted their 12-year old son to help setup and tear down the equipment. He gets some homeschool credit for his help. 🙂

Best part of the experience?

During the course of the 30-minute concert, many friends and family jumped on and made comments and hit the LIKE and HEART buttons. “It’s a very interactive experience and Facebook friends and followers can actually send us comments as we’re singing, talking, and storytelling.” Tara said.

She enjoyed seeing the comments flooding in and was surprised by how much fun it was to chat in real time with all the family and friends who happened by to enjoy the music.

Facebook posts the Live feeds on their timeline afterwards, so people who missed it live can still view it later. As of this writing, last week’s concert has about 4500 views on Facebook.

Any challenges in putting on a live concert on Facebook?

Dave and Tara kicked of the show with a contest for giving away 2 tickets to their upcoming Christmas Concert [MORE INFO HERE]. But they admit doing live giveaways is going to need some tweeking. They had introduced “Melvin the Elf” hoping he would make it easier to help people win, but there was confusion somewhere between the explanation and the execution and sadly, Tara told, “we failed, Melvin failed.” Ha!

But keep watching for giveaways! There will be more!

If you missed it, no worries!

You can watch it here [see below]. But you can also watch each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm MST.

And plan to join MountainCity TONIGHT on Facebook for their next Facebook Live Concert. This week will be different from last week.  Each week will be unique. Be sure to hit the SHARE button and tell your friends and family about it. It is family-friendly and love-focused. Music, stories, and love.

We could all use some of that today, we’re thinking.
