(Denver, CO) MountainCity’s Christmas EP, Love’s Gonna Find You has been well received since its’ release 4 days ago.
With more than 35,000 streams on Spotify alone at the time of this writing, songs from MountainCity’s new Christmas EP are streaming at a rate of about 1000 times per waking hour. Listeners in Denver, New York, Dallas and Houston are leading the pack in most streams by city.
Tara’s rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and Dave’s soulful “That Spirit of Christmas,” are the top streamed songs from the EP to date.
But the title track, Love’s Gonna Find You, is the undisputed theme of this Christmas release by the Colorado-based duo. Striking the perfect balance between an all-grown-up nostalgic longing and the wide-eyed wonder of a child on Christmas Eve, the song stirs anticipation, evoking long-forgotten dreams, and delivers a promise that love is, indeed, going to find you.
“We absolutely fell in love with the melody and the feel of this Mindy Smith song when we first heard it a few years ago,” Tara said.
Originally called, “Santa Will Find You” (words and music by Chely Wright and Mindy Smith 2007), MountainCity decided to change it to “Love’s Gonna Find You.”
“We made it our own,” Tara explained. “We realize that Christmas and the holidays in general can be a really tough season for some people. We wanted them to remember that love is alive and that there is hope. Be watching for it.” [see lyrics below]
“It’s a message we like to share,” she says. “We’re hoping that this song could be lovely for someone in a dark season.”
You’ll find the song and the Love’s Gonna Find You EP on Spotify and iTunes, at the MountainCityMusic.com website, and wherever great Christmas music is sold.

LYRICS: Love’s Gonna Find You, by Chely Wright and Mindy Smith, 2007
If you’re far away on this holiday evening
And you’re dreamin’ of being at home
If you’re worried at all that you may be forgotten
You should know that you aren’t alone
‘Cause you’re there and you’re shining
Bright as a beacon, bright as a northern star
So, don’t worry because
Love’s gonna find you wherever you are
Love’s gonna find you tonight
If you’re listening for reindeer and sleigh bells
As they jingle and tap on the roof
You’re awake, piled in blankets
With your cousins at grandma’s
And you hope there’ll be presents for you
‘Cause you’re there and you’re shining
Bright as a beacon, bright as a northern star
So, don’t worry because
Love’s gonna find you wherever you are
Love’s gonna find you tonight
It’s the time and the season to bring loved ones together
Never let distance keep you apart
With the spirit of Christmas
You’ll never be lost
If you truly believe in your heart
When you’re there and you’re shining
Bright as a beacon, bright as a northern star
So, don’t worry because
Love’s gonna find you wherever you are
Love’s gonna find you
Don’t worry because
Love’s gonna find you wherever you are
Love’s gonna find you tonight
