MountainCity’s Dave and Tara Powers on Show Hope

(Denver, CO)  Tara says they first heard of Show Hope because of Christian singer-songwriter, and 5-time Grammy winning artist, Steven Curtis Chapman‘s, affiliation.

Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, a New York Times best-selling author, founded the non-profit organization after adopting three daughters themselves. The Chapmans realized there were millions of children who still desperately needed families. They decided to use their platform and resources to raise awareness about the world-wide orphan crisis and help “families with the heart to adopt children, but without the means to do so.” [source]

Dave + Tara + their firstborn son, Hunter + an outpouring of support and love from friends and family + a grant from Show Hope  = adopting Kai

Tara says applying for the grant with Show Hope was easy enough. “When you need funds to be able to adopt,” which was a deep longing for her, “you will do just about anything you need to do,” she told us.

The day they went to the mailbox and found a letter from Show Hope, Hunter remembers all three of them jumping up and down and laughing their heads off in the garage. Tara said there was a lot of joyful dancing.

Dave recently reflected on Kai becoming part of their family. Read more about their adoption story HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Photoshoot day with Trisha LaCoste was a really good day…just ask Kai!

Show Hope recently commissioned photographer, Trisha LaCoste, to meet up with the Powers family for pictures. Trisha is a freelance creative in photography, design and writing. Despite the fact that, at four, Kai is not that into having his picture taken, Trisha managed to capture some major joy and cuteness with Kai (and his family).

Dave would like to thank his sponsor, Temple Audio

Dave had this to say:

“There are pedal boards, and then there are PEDAL BOARDS + INNOVATION + PURE GENIUS.

“The latter can only be Temple Audio pedal boards.

“Man, the Temple Audio team is SHARP, I mean REALLY sharp. Besides their excellent customer service, the quality of their products is amazing! It’s the lightest pedal board I’ve ever experienced! And, my pedal board is Velcro-free, and while Velcro may be one of the greatest inventions in the universe, I don’t prefer it on my board!

“It is a great privilege for me to now be a part of the Temple Audio Family of Artists, and I absolutely encourage you to check out Temple Audio right here! www.templeaudio.com
